Lakeside Friends Bookstore Happenings!

Be sure you bring your punch card. Each time you purchased $5.00 in books you receive a punch. Once you have 10 punches you get $10.00 of free books at the bookstore. Become a member of the Friends to receive your Punch card! Membership form available here.

The Lakeside Friends of the Library appreciate your book donations, which help support the library programs. Donations are accepted during regular bookstore hours. Please do not drop off book donations outside the library building, they will be discarded. Click here for our book donations guidelines.

The Lakeside Library has many resources available for the community throughout the year. Be sure to check their calendar of events page for more information including the Feeding San Diego on July 28th and August 25th.

Terry Burke Eiserling departed this life on January 4, 2025, after a fierce battle with cancer. She was passionate and instrumental in the implementation of the new Lakeside Library and bookstore, amoung many other projects. Terry was dedicated to our Lakeside community and the people who live here. To view the tribute to this amazing human, click here.

Mission Statement

The Lakeside Friends of the Library strives to encourage literacy, lifelong learning, and the love of reading throughout our diverse community. The purpose is to build and maintain an association of persons interested in the library, its services, facilities, and needs. We seek to enhance the library’s resources, increase the community’s access to information and knowledge, and provide a vibrant cultural gathering place. We are a volunteer-based, non-profit organization 501(C)(3) who believes that a vital and attractive library is essential to our community.
