East County’s First Annual Book Crawl a Big Success

East County’s first annual Book Crawl for the Friends of the Library was a great success! The crawl kicked off on Saturday, February 14, and ran through February 21. Some of our board members hit the road on Saturday and Tuesday, passports in hand, to visit several East County Friends bookstores. Many others Friends board, our members and volunteers joined in throughout the week.

It was so much fun visiting the eight East County Friends bookstores that participated in the Crawl and supporting their stores with our purchases. At each location, we had the opportunity to chat with the dedicated volunteers who run the bookstores and help support their local libraries. At the Ramona bookstore we saw one of our LFOL members, Lisa and her husband! Being able to visit other bookstores and see how they operate was truly a highlight of the Book Crawl.

Meanwhile, back at the Lakeside Friends of the Library bookstore, our volunteers worked hard all week assisting enthusiastic customers with their purchases. From there, customers headed to the stamp station to have their passports stamped and receive their gifts. Thanks to everyone involved, this event was an amazing success.
