Terry Burke Eiserling

It is with great sadness that we let our community know Terry sadly passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 75 after a 3-year battle with cholangiocarcinoma. She was the most amazing woman you could ever know and an even more amazing mom.

After retiring as a CA state employee in social services, she began a new career as a full-time volunteer in her local community in San Diego. All her accomplishments are too long to list here, but a few that she was most proud of were: building the new Lakeside Library, building a skatepark at Lindo Lake (and being the “ultimate skatepark mom”, as the dedicated bench in her honor claims), successfully changing CA state law to allow all wheels at skateparks, winning CA Woman of the Year and Lakeside Citizen of the Year, and so much more.  Terry was involved with the Woman’s club of Lakeside and was the voice of the community events. When she wasn’t volunteering, she loved going to concerts with friends, gardening, and spending time with her son, James. In true Terry fashion, when she received her cancer diagnosis, she quickly educated herself as much as possible on all things cholangiocarcinoma.

We hope to continue her support of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and to spread awareness to as many as possible.

Terry will be greatly missed and remembered forever.
